Spiritual States
and Mystical Stations |
This is the second of three volumes (X, XI, XII)
relating to the spiritual states and stations of Sufism. Due to the
great number of these stations and states, a major part of the Sufi
lexicon was devoted to their exposition. In order to give devotees and
adepts of the Sufi Path an indication of the pitfalls which may confront
them, or to furnish explanations or examples of what could be expected
during their progress, intricate descriptions and elaborate subtleties
of these states and stations were often provided.
